4 And again, verily I say unto you, that which is governed by law is also preserved by law and perfected and sanctified by the same. Section 88:34
The law of tithing. If the Church and Kingdom is to become organized, and progress in holiness, it must have necessary liquidity to operate in a fallen world (Babylon). Therefore tithing must be lived and the promise is: 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. (Mal 3:10)
Since the Lord's anointed is to devote all his energies and time to this work, according to the law of God, he must be provided for by the churches as anciently: 13 And again, I say unto you, that if ye desire the mysteries of the kingdom, provide for him food and raiment, and whatsoever thing he needeth to accomplish the work wherewith I have commanded him;
14 And if ye do it not he shall remain unto them that have received him, that I may reserve unto myself a pure people before me. (D&C 43:13-14)
The Apostles who are traveling have this right, saith the Lord, also. Jimmy made the appeal to his brethren, that if he needed funds to "gas his tank" while traveling that he be able to call upon his brethren to accomplish his mission to go to baptize in Knoxville, or New York, in this instance. His appeal was unaminously sustained in the affirmative.
