Psychological States and Madness
Listening to "Psychological States and Madness" hosted by Art Bulla on #BlogTalkRadio http://tobtr.com/s/1513004
I come up with a feeling that it is a beautiful doctrine and theory that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young have advanced to us. And now through you I have been able to read their standpoint. Brother Edwards prayed about it a little bit, maybe not enough, and now he feels he is a rebel. That's too bad, Bob. But you should be proud to be in good company as Joseph Smith and also the Lord Jesus Christ and all the true prophets were considered as rebels. Don't worry Bob, they will not throw you out. Look what that mister van Hale says about the Book of Mormon and he is getting away even with that. Anyway Bob, you should take a little more time to investigate these matters, like everybody should do who would ever come across this material. And what happened to Chris? I liked the things he said. Did he stop his contribution to the program? Too bad.
Anyway, all the best and may God bless you on all your ways.
Well Art, thanks for inviting me to visit you. Indeed I would like to meet you some time and discuss things in person. For the moment that would be a bit difficult, but I shall keep that in mind. In the meantime we will keep in touch by email. Little by little I am getting more knowledge and understanding of church history and gospel doctrine, by listening to your broadcasts and by further investigating on the subjects you deal with. The internet is a valuable tool for this.
Sometimes the details that I find are quite shocking to me. I just listened to your broadcast of february the 20th concerning the conferring of the priesthood; that Heber J. Grant changed the method of ordination, as a result of which the priesthood was not conferred, but just an office in it; that when this was corrected by David O. mcKay, 36 years later, nothing was done about all the incorrect conferrals; that people were left with the serious question if they had the priesthood at all. A compromise was made on this matter of highest concern, in this church that is boasting of being the only church of having the priesthood. I am glad I was not baptised in that period. I was ordained an elder in 1983. I wonder if that was valid.
Everything strikes accord with me, says Bob, and I share that feeling. The Adam-God doctrine, the united order, the law of Abraham, or Sara, the literal gathering of Israel; unfortunately all abandoned by the present day church. I just have a problem with the scriptures and some statements of some of the latter day prophets concerning the curse of Cain. This is an emotional problem to me, since I have a friend in the church who is of african descent and for whom I have great respect. He is a caring and reliable person and an example for us all. If anyone is entitled to a priesthood it is he, I would say. So that constitutes a problem for me. Could it not be possible that the vengeance of the Lord had ended on the 30th of september 1978? We were told it was a revelation, although it came to us as a manifesto: to whom it may concern.
Statements by Brigham Young indicate that this would not occur before the end of the millennium. Joseph Fielding Smith writes in "The way to perfection" that this moment would come when the posterity of Abel would have come forward and taken precedence of the posterity of Cain, which is of course a rather vague statement.
But apart from this issue I want to thank you, like Bob did, for introducing me to some new and exciting knowledge and information. I much appreciated the upload of Joseph Musser's book "Michael our father and our God". As a matter of fact I had it downloaded from the internet just a day before, after I heard your broadcast called "Titles and offices in the Priesthood", but thanks nevertheless. It looks promising and valuable. By the way that particular show was really good.
Alright then, having nothing more to say I end with my best regards,
brother Rik.

Psychological States and Madness
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:(2 Thes 2:11) "Before God destroys a nation, he strikes them with madness". Josephus
"The scriptures are an iron rod running by the side of a deep and filthy river in flood stage. The rod is there to lead me to the Tree of Life, but it is also a barrier to keep me from being swept away by the deceptions of my generation. Once again, I hear the Lord whisper: "Don't walk along the edge of that river without a good grip on the iron rod, you will drown." ('letters from Loving Father To His Children', LDS Church News, 1993, 01/02/93)
We are spiritual as well as physical beings and all the time awash in spiritual phenomenae. The sagacity of man unaided by revelation from God is helpless to be lead along to perish. Differenet psychological states at once influenced by spirit of God, and then madness which comes when deluded because of unrighteousness into an opposite state. Wicked are deluded and lead along.
"The Almighty will lead the wicked as a man leads a horse, at pleasure. Remarks By Heber C. Kimball.
Missive from Henrik of the Netherlands, quoting Bob Edwards:
