Rise, Progress and Future of the Mormons
7 For I the Lord have suffered for all men, that if they come unto me in the manner of old, that ye shall be sheltered from these things, yea, even as a chick is sheltered of a hen, even from the buffetings of that evil one, if ye come as a little child, saith the Lord, and receive of mine ordinances in the manner appointed from the foundation of the world as the gateway, and the only way, even the door of the sheepfold, in the manner appointed.
8 And he that climbeth up some other way than that which hath been appointed by me in the Councils of the Son of God before the world wast organized as an unalterable decree, is not of me, and is cast out as a thief and a robber.
9 For shall I the Lord receive anything which is not ordained and appointed by me, which is after the Order of the Ancients?
10 For I am the author and the finisher of the faith of them that believed in me anciently, even Abraham your father, and Isaac and Jacob, for they received their salvation at the hands of Melchizedec who is Shem, saith the Lord, in the manner appointed.
11 And how is it that ye consider thyself greater than they, saith the Lord?
12 For in no other way is salvation from suffering and pain and death and hell obtained, and this in all ages of the world, saith the Lord.
13 For I the Lord God am the same, yesterday, today, and forever, and I change not, and am no respector of persons, or generations, for all are my children, saith the Father, of both heaven and earth.
14 For what father among you esteemeth one child above another righteously?
15 Therefor my gosple among my children, changeth not, both before and after Jesus Christ, saith the Lord.
16 For they that were before looked forward to his birth, and ye afterward look back, but all are the same before me, the Father who is the mightiest and greatest of all, for am I not Man of Holiness, and all who are obedient are they not my sons also, whether before or after?
17 For all have been saved, even from the foundation of the world, upon the same principles, saith the Lord, or else I the Lord God am a respector of persons and generations.
18 For them before the flood were more intelligent than ye, O ye stiffnecked and perverse generation that stonest the prophets!
19 For they were the Ancients, who were mighty men in the earth, strong of sinew and bone, and by whose strength, even the constitution of that body which I the Lord their God did give unto them, they, even they did stave off death, that they did live unto the age of a tree in the life thereof.
20 But ye have become weak and feeble and susceptible to disease because of the rebellion of thy fathers after the flesh, by whom the nations are descended, and by whom they, the nations have departed from the Lord God of Noah, who is the Father, even of their spirits, and who is the Father of both heaven and earth, and who is the Father of one Jesus Christ's body, whose bowels yearn over thee, my children!
21 For the wages of sin, is it not death, saith the Lord, and this in all ages of the world?
22 Even so, the gosple of life and salvation, is it not also the same in all ages of the world upon which thou standest of which there are many?
23 For as it is on the one hand, even so it is on the other, saith the Father of heaven and earth.
24 Even so, come unto me the Father, through him who is appointed by me for this generation and who hath this right from the foundation of the world, and is his by lineage, for he is a direct descendant after the flesh of his Father David, with whom I the Lord God of Israel did covenant that the scepter should not depart from him, even the fruit of his loins, forever. The Revelations of Jesus Christ, Section 66.
5 What is the root of Jesse spoken of in the 10th verse of the 11th chapter?
6 Behold, thus saith the Lord, it is a descendant of Jesse, as well as of Joseph, unto whom rightly belongs the priesthood, and the keys of the kingdom, for an ensign, and for the gathering of my people in the last days.
7 Questions by Elias Higbee: What is meant by the command in Isaiah, 52d chapter, 1st verse, which saith: Put on thy strength, O Zion--and what people had Isaiah reference to?
8 He had reference to those whom God should call in the last days, who should hold the power of priesthood to bring again Zion, and the redemption of Israel; and to put on her strength is to put on the authority of the priesthood, which she, Zion, has a right to by lineage; also to return to that power which she had lost.
9 What are we to understand by Zion loosing herself from the bands of her neck; 2d verse?
10 We are to understand that the scattered remnants are exhorted to return to the Lord from whence they have fallen; which if they do, the promise of the Lord is that he will speak to them, or give them revelation. See the 6th, 7th, and 8th verses. The bands of her neck are the curses of God upon her, or the remnants of Israel in their scattered condition among the Gentiles. (D&C 113:3-10)
3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.
4 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day [is] blasphemed.
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore [they shall know] in that day that I [am] he that doth speak: behold, [it is] I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean [thing]; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel [will be] your rereward.
13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for [that] which had not been told them shall they see; and [that] which they had not heard shall they consider. (Isa 52:1-15)
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy [it] unto the end.
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. (Dan 7:25-27)
26 Now Melchizedek was a man of faith, who wrought righteousness; and when a child he feared God, and stopped the mouths of lions, and quenched the violence of fire.
27 And thus, having been approved of God, he was ordained an high priest after the order of the covenant which God made with Enoch,
28 It being after the order of the son of God; which order came, not by man, nor the will of man; neither by father nor mother; neither by beginning of days nor end of years; but of God;
29 And it was delivered unto men by the calling of his own voice, according to his own will, unto as many as believed on his name.
30 For God having sworn unto Enoch and unto his seed with an oath by himself; that every one being ordained after this order and calling should have power, by faith, to break mountains, to divide the seas, to dry up waters, to turn them out of their course;
31 To put at defiance the armies of nations, to divide the earth, to break every band, to stand in the presence of God; to do all things according to his will, according to his command, subdue principalities and powers; and this by the will of the Son of God which was from before the foundation of the world.
32 And men having this faith, coming up unto this order of God, were translated and taken up into heaven.
33 And now, Melchizedek was a priest of this order; therefore he obtained peace in Salem, and was called the Prince of peace.
34 And his people wrought righteousness, and obtained heaven, and sought for the city of Enoch which God had before taken, separating it from the earth, having reserved it unto the latter days, or the end of the world;
35 And hath said, and sworn with an oath, that the heavens and the earth should come together; and the sons of God should be tried so as by fire. (JST Gen 14:26-35)

· 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. (New Testament | Galatians 1:10 - 12)
