Joshua Jones Quote and Advent of OMS
After introductory remarks, Van Hale called into the program to discuss the "Joshua Jones Quote" in which, according to James T. Clark, Joshua Jones testified to him, in 1922, that Brigham Young at the Provo Bowry, said, "Brethren this Church shall be led on to the very brink of hell by the leaders of this people..." Van took exception to the validity of this testimony. I provided two other corroborative sources for this prophecy by Brigham Young in 1867, one by Daniel Peay, and the other by John W. Wooley. Van and I went back and forth extensively on this matter, though due to the limitations of the medium of satellite, much of what was said could not be understood by the other, though anyone listening could probably hear both. Resolved to speak again about these matters.
